Well I did it! I didn't give in to the cold weather this morning. I thought for a little second that I'd just go to Ocean Isle and pick up my t-shirt and come home...but I didn't.
My intentions this year are to do the same races that I've done before, but also do races that I haven't done and the one today happened to be on that I'd never ran before.
The race started at 9:00 and I didn't get out of my warm car until 8:45 :) This particular run was hard! It crossed the high rise there at Ocean Isle and back across. I didn't think I was going to make it up the bridge the first time. It was 22 degrees out and winds of 10-15 mph....that was just horrible! Heading back up the bridge on the way back was a lot easier (thank goodness)
I managed to finish first in my age group, but there were only 4 of us...so I guess luck was on my side. I believe the next one I'm going to do is the William H. Craig 15K. I'm debating on the 5k, but I'll probably end up doing the 15K depending on the weather. I can tell you...I will not be pre-registering for anymore races in January and February... ha ha!!!!
