Monday - June 7, 2010

Well, I'm attempting once again to blog. Not quite sure why I can't seem to keep this thing up.
Well, as you may notice, I didn't hit my 100 mile goal in May. There are a couple reasons, that really can be used as excuses. Like, running 4, 5k's within a 7 day period which took off some mileage, going to Myrtle Beach from a Thursday - Sunday, and then my heel acting up terribly which led to me not running much at the end of the month.
I missed my goal by nearly 25 miles :( I was rather disappointed in myself because I really wanted to hit the 100 mark each month for a year...oh well - guess I'll change it mid-stream to 1200 miles in a year :)

Started back running today after nearly a week off and going out of town. I'm trying to give my heel a break....so today when I ran I took it easy. I started off by walking a mile, then I ran the second mile. When I got to miles 3/4 I walked to first half of each, and ran the last half of each. Mile 5 I decided I'd walk the first 0.25, run the second, walk the third and run the last 0.25. Then I continued on from the last 0.25 to run another 0.25 for a total of 5.25 today.
Tomorrow I'm going to try to slowly run 3, somewhere between 9 1/2 and 10 pace. But, course I'll start with probably like a mile walk to loosen everything up :)

I'm looking forward to the Blueberry Festival 5k on the 19th to hopefully redeem myself. The last time I ran, it was simply horrible. So bad I ran straight to my car after the finish line and didn't run again until November!!! Please Lord...don't let me do that again :)
